A time for families to bond.
“As I grow older, I feel like time passes by so quickly.” This is why this couple slowly spent the three days and two nights of their wedding gathered together with their loved ones, forgetting about time and hoping that it would remain in their hearts as a memory, even after time had passed. They were a warm-hearted couple who cared for each other. On the auspicious day In the atmosphere of MAYA, an old private house, and with the idea of conducting an old-fashioned wedding ceremony, the couple invited those close to them to give thanks for the miracles of their meeting and their births, which was made possible by the marriage of their parents and their ancestors. To renew their vows as husband and wife, they held to the time-honored tradition of delivering a “congratulatory speech.” Marriage is not just about the bride and groom coming together; the bride and groom’s families also become united. With this in mind, the couple started by holding the “sake cup ceremony.” In it, the bride and groom, who will be together for the rest of their lives, exchanged sake cups with their parents to seal the bonds of family. Each poured sake for each other and for the other’s parents. Then, they all took a drink together, cups in hand. After this, a “family ceremony” was held, in which the nameplate with the names of both families engraved on it, which was displayed at the gate of MAYA, was put in one box alongside the marriage certificate, which both families contributed to making. This time, when both families united, was watched over by many people and was filled with warmth, just like the couple. At the reception, the couple introduced the people they had invited. They also introduced themselves using a video about the two of them, to emphasize the time they spent together under one roof. For a change of clothes, the couple changed from Japanese to Western-style attire. As she works in the fashion industry, the bride wore a dress that she had made herself. The dress, which had finally been completed at the last minute after the bride had stayed up all night, drew cheers. Carefully decorated with beading and lace, it had a captivating beauty. During the reception, the couple walked up to each guest, saying, “Thank you for coming today,” to which they received replies such as, “Congratulations,” and “You look so beautiful.” The guests came up to the couple and walked around the dining room freely, as if they had been invited into their home. The words of congratulations to the couple from their friends were so direct that the bride’s tears overflowed from the feelings she couldn’t put into words. This, in turn, also brought tears to the eyes of the guests. At the conclusion of the event, everyone went out to the garden and took a group photo with the MAYA house in the background. The sight of everyone lined up around the couple looked like a large family. This was a wedding that was not just for the bride and groom. In the image of the couple, it was a union of both families who cherished the time they spent together.
