一つ屋根の下で過ごす日。

「結婚式では、”誰にも見られたくない”」とお話されていたことがとても印象的で恥ずかしがり屋な新郎さん。どんなことに対しても迷うことなく「これがいい。」と率直な意見を持ち、自然と周りを明るくする笑顔の持ち主の新婦さん。お二人はゆっくりと時間が流れる日常の延長線のようなMAYAでたいせつなご家族やご友人だけを一つ屋根の下に集い、「肩肘張らないそんな結婚式にしたい。」とMAYAで「結婚の日」を過ごされることを決めてくださいました。


結婚の日1日目。

手を大きく振って元気いっぱいの新婦さん。会釈をしながら少し眠たそうな様子の新郎さん。お二人とこれまでたくさんの準備を重ねてきた分間家の門を開ける瞬間、これから始まるお二人の「結婚の日」に、胸が高まったのを覚えています。ハレの日前日はお二人でお泊まりになりました。夜はMAYAの調理器具の土鍋を使って、MAYAのシェフにご飯の炊き方を教わりながら、炊いたご飯を酢飯にして「手巻き寿司」を召し上がりました。「美味しく炊けました!」と笑顔でお話しになりながら、ダイニングで肩を寄せ合って、夕食を召し上がっている様子は、お二人の日常の姿を見ることができたようでとても微笑ましかったです。


結婚の日2日目。

「ぐっすりと眠れました。」とリラックスしたご様子で始まったハレの日の朝。MAYAはお家。滞在中はお二人のお家だからこそ、「自分たちのお家に人を招いたときどんなふうにおもてなしをするのか」たくさん考えられたお二人。「まずはお家に来てくれたらお茶をいれますね。」そう打合せてお話ししていたお二人は、披露宴当日もゲストの皆様に、コーヒーを淹れておもてなしをすることにしました。MAYAのアイランドキッチンに立ち、お互いにエプロンを掛け合い、コーヒーミルを使って豆を挽き、ハンドドリップをして出来立てのコーヒーを。挽き立ての豆で真心を込めて入れたコーヒーは、ダイニングがいい香りに包まれ、心も体も温まるあたたかいおもてなしでした。



披露宴を結び、夜はご両家揃っての夕食。

お互いの両親が遠方にいるため、会うのは顔合わせ以来。家族同士が集まれる時間をなかなか作れないからこそ「家族との時間もたいせつにしたい」とお話ししていたお二人。食卓にはおもてなし料理の一つ”鎌倉野菜のしゃぶしゃぶ”をご用意させていただきました。またお二人のご要望に合わせて”鯛とナスのたたき” ”温奴とワカメジュレのあんかけ” “サバのおろし煮”を

MAYAのシェフがオーダーメイドで作ったお料理を2、3品ご用意しました。色鮮やかな食卓にご両家の皆様が「美味しそう!」と声を揃って言ってくださいました。お料理が繋ぐ家族との時間にMAYAのシェフも嬉しかったと今でもお話をしています。

結婚の日3日目。

3日目のお昼は、お気に入りの鎌倉の中華屋さんにお二人でお出かけになりました。「美味しかった!」とMAYAへ帰ってこられたお二人の姿は本当のお家に帰ってきたかのようにMAYAのお家に馴染んでいてお二人がチェックアウトをされた後、MAYAに残るお二人の余韻がなんだか寂しかったのを今でも忘れられないです。

夫婦の時間、家族との時間、友人との時間

どの時間も欠かすことのできないたいせつな時間を

2泊3日の中で、ゆっくりとていねいに過ごされたお二人の結婚の日でした。

A day spent under one roof.

The groom, who is shy and said, “I don’t want anyone to see me” at the wedding, left a strong impression. The bride, who is straightforward and brightens up the surroundings with her natural smile, never hesitates and says, “This is good” for anything. They have decided to spend their wedding day in a relaxed atmosphere at MAYA, which is like an extension of your everyday life. It’s a place where you can gather your important family and friends under one roof.

On the first day of the wedding. The bride waved her hands vigorously with full of energy. The groom nodded while looking a little sleepy. As we opened the gate of the venue, after all the preparations we had done together, I remember my heart swelling with excitement as their “wedding day” began. The day before the special day, the two of them stayed overnight together. They used MAYA’s cooking utensils, including a clay pot, and learned how to cook rice from MAYA’s chef. They made sushi rolls using the cooked rice and enjoyed them. While smiling and saying, “It turned out delicious!” they sat close together in the dining room and had dinner. It was heartwarming to see them in their everyday life.

On the second day of their wedding, the morning of the special day began with a relaxed atmosphere as they said, “We slept soundly.” Maya’s house was their home during their stay. Because it was their own home, the couple had put a lot of thought into how to welcome guests. “When they come to our house, we will make tea for them.” The two of them discussed and decided to serve coffee to all the guests on the day of the wedding reception. Standing in MAYA’s island kitchen, they put on aprons for each other, grounded the beans using a coffee mill, and made freshly brewed coffee using a hand drip method. The coffee made with freshly ground beans was brewed with heartfelt care, surrounded the dining area in a pleasant aroma and provided a warm hospitality that warmed both the heart and body.

After the wedding ceremony, the evening was filled with a dinner where both families gathered together. Since both of their parents live far away, this was the first time they had seen each other since the initial meeting. The two of them had been talking about how they couldn’t find the time to gather with their families, so they wanted to cherish their time with their families. We prepared one of our hospitality dishes, “Kamakura vegetable shabu-shabu,” for the dining table. In addition, we prepared 2 or 3 dishes of custom-made dishes made by MAYA’s chef according to their requests, such as “Seared Tuna and Eggplant,” “Warm Tofu and Wakame Jelly Ankake,” and “Simmered Mackerel with Grated Radish.” Everyone from both families said in unison, “It looks delicious!” about the colorful dining table. Even now, MAYA’s chef is happy to talk about the time with the family that the food connected.

On the third day of their wedding, the couple went out together to their favorite Chinese restaurant in Kamakura for lunch. When they returned to MAYA, they looked as if they had come back to their real home, saying “It was delicious!” Even after the couple checked out, I still can’t forget the lingering feeling of their presence at MAYA. It was a precious day for the couple, spending quality time together as a married couple, with family, and with friends. They carefully and leisurely spent this important time during their 2-night, 3-day wedding celebration.
