辿り着いた私たちらしい日。
「いつか式を挙げたいと思いながら気付いたら3年経っていました」「数カ所の式場を見学して、式場探しに疲れてきて…」とMAYAに見学に来ていただいたお二人。 大切な人とゆっくり過ごしたい、そんな思いで結婚の日を選んでいただきました。
結婚の日1日目
お二人でチェックインされ、ハレの日のご準備をされました。 ゲストのみなさまを迎え入れるためにご準備されるお二人の姿は、結婚式前日というよりも、家にお客さまを迎え入れる前のおもてなしのご準備をしているようなご様子でした。
結婚の日2日目
お二人で迎えたハレの日の朝。 披露宴を2回行う２部制を選ばれました。 １部目はご親族のみ16名で。 それぞれの甥っ子くん、姪っ子ちゃんも集まり、賑やかでアットホームな時間を過ごされました。 お子様へのギフトに、絵本やおもちゃの詰め合わせをご準備したお二人。早速開封してみんなで遊んでいる光景が微笑ましかったのを覚えています。 結びには引出物にご準備したレザーのマグホルダーにお二人がコーヒーをゲストの皆さまへお入れしてご提供。 色とりどりのマグホルダーにはゲストの皆さまそれぞれのお名前が刻印されており、大変喜ばれておりました。 挙式にはご友人も集まり、お庭で行いました。 ２部目はカジュアルにビュッフェスタイルの「祝卓」をご準備しました。 ゲストの皆さまのドレスコードは”ペイズリー” ワンピース、ネクタイ、シャツなど皆さまが思い思いにペイズリー柄を身に纏っており、一体感が生まれておりました。 中盤では新郎様がサプライズでお庭で得意のダンスを披露されました。ゲストの皆さまと共にMAYAからお庭を覗く新婦様の表情がとても素敵でした。 ハレの日の締めくくりには、普段通われている美容師の方によって、ベリーショートに思い切ってヘアチェンジ。 この日を無事に迎えることができた、安堵と達成感に満ちた笑顔を温かな拍手が包みました。 ゲストの方が帰られる姿を門の前までお見送りされたお二人。「私たちのお家からみんなのことをお見送りできて嬉しかったね」と言っていただいたことが忘れられません。
結婚の日3日目
チェックアウトをされる際にお二人が私たちスタッフにメッセージカードを残してくださりました。 そこには3日間の感謝の気持ちに加えて「２部の会場のレイアウトの早替えありがとうございました」と記されていました。 ハレの日当日、ダイニングの会場転換の際のスタッフの動きまで気遣ってくださることは初めてだったので、嬉しい驚きでした。 帰りは電車だったにも関わらず、装花の花材をたくさん持ち帰ってくださり、私たちMAYAスタッフはもちろん、装花を担当している苔丸さんも、結婚の日に対するひとつひとつの思いが繋がったと実感できた3日間でした。 また会える日が来ますように。と時間がたった今でも思っています。
The day that feels like us has finally arrived.
The couple came to MAYA for a tour, saying, “Three years had passed without realizing it, while thinking about having a wedding someday,” and “After visiting several wedding venues and getting tired of searching for one…,”. They chose a day to celebrate their wedding with their loved ones.
WEDDING DAY 1
They checked in and prepared for their special day. The way they both prepared to welcome their guests seemed more like preparing for hospitality before welcoming guests into their home, rather than the day before the wedding.
WEDDING DAY 2
On the morning of their special day, the couple chose to have a two-part wedding with two receptions. The first part was attended by only 16 close relatives. The atmosphere was lively and cozy as each of their nephews and nieces gathered to celebrate the occasion. As a gift for the children, the couple prepared a set of picture books and toys, which everyone enjoyed playing with. To conclude, the couple prepared leather mug holders as wedding favors, which were engraved with each guest’s name. They personally served coffee to all the guests, and the colorful mug holders were greatly appreciated by everyone. Their friends also gathered for the ceremony, which took place in the garden. For the second part of the celebration, they set up a casual buffet-style table. The guests were instructed to dress in paisley attire, and everyone followed suit by wearing paisley patterns on their dresses, ties, shirts, and so on, creating a sense of unity. During the event, the groom surprised everyone by showcasing his dancing skills in the garden, while the bride watched with delight from MAYA along with the other guests. To conclude the special day, the couple’s regular hairstylist gave the bride a bold hair change, cutting it into a very short style, which received warm applause from the guests. They were filled with relief and a sense of accomplishment for successfully reaching this day. As the guests were leaving, the couple personally saw them off at the front gate, expressing their gratitude and happiness for everyone’s presence. The couple’s words, “We were so happy to be able to see everyone off from our home,” will always be remembered fondly.
WEDDING DAY 3
The couple left a message card for our staff when they checked out. The card was not only a token of their gratitude for the three-day stay, but it also expressed appreciation for the quick layout change of the two venues. This was the first time that someone had shown such consideration for the staff’s movements during the dining venue conversion on the special day and it was a pleasant surprise. Despite taking the train home, they took a lot of the floral materials with them. It was a three-day experience where we, the MAYA staff, as well as Kokemaru-san, who was in charge of the floral arrangements, could feel the connection of each and every thought towards their wedding day. I still think about the day we will meet again, even after some time has passed.
