「家族のような友人」と過ごす日。
いつも優しい表情で新婦様を見守る、気さくで穏やかな新郎様。愛嬌たっぷりの可愛らしい笑顔で周りの人を自然と笑顔にできる新婦様。
出逢われてから3年間、一緒に月日を重ね過ごされてきたお二人は晴れて夫婦となり、「結婚の日」を迎えるため、このMAYAを訪ねてくれました。
MAYAの空間に入った途端、感覚的に「ここだ。」と感じたと仰ってくれた新郎様、そして、初めから「MAYAしかない」と想ってくれていたという新婦様。普段から木造の古民家で暮らされているお二人にとって、このMAYAの空間は、どこか落ち着く雰囲気が漂い、自分たちがこの家で「結婚の日」を過ごされている姿が自然と目に浮かんだ。と嬉しそうに話してくれたお二人の表情は今でも鮮明に覚えています。
私たちスタッフもお二人と出逢った時から不思議なご縁を感じており、「結婚の日」を迎えるまでのご準備も、お二人とご一緒に素敵な時間を過ごさせていただきました。
結婚の日 1日目。
お酒がお好きなお二人は、家族のような友人たちをこの家に招き、普段と変わらない時間を過ごしたい。そんな想いから、MAYAのお庭で賑やかにはじまったBBQ。ご自身でお肉やお野菜を焼き、お二人がご用意されたこだわりのお酒を飲みながら、ハレの日前夜のお時間を楽しまれておりました。
時折、親御様やご兄弟よりも近しい存在になることもある「家族のような友人」。
この「結婚の日」を迎えるまで、さまざまな時をご一緒に過ごされてきたご友人だからこそ、ハレの日を迎える前日には溢れる想いが皆様のなかにあったのだろうと思います。
そして迎えたハレの日当日。
ご両家のご家族や、学生時代からお付き合いのあるたくさんのご友人が訪れ、一気に賑やかになったこの家で執り行われる挙式では、ゲストの皆様に「人と人を結びつける」と言われる”水引”を一つの額にかけていただき、世界に一つだけのお二人の結婚証明書をお作りいただきました。
ゲストの皆様の想いが詰まった色鮮やかなこの結婚証明書は、この先お二人が歩む夫婦生活をあたたかく見守ってくれることだろうと思います。
披露宴では、真っ白なウェディングドレスから装いを新たにされた新婦様をお迎えし、MAYAならではの鯛パフォーマンスをお庭でお二人が披露されました。
結婚の日の名物料理としてご用意している大きな鯛を蒸籠で蒸しあげ、4種類の薬味を乗せたお魚のメイン料理。この日は仕上げに、香り付けのピーナッツオイルをエプロン姿のお二人にかけていただきました。その姿は、たいせつな皆様にご自宅でお料理を振る舞うお二人の姿を見ているようでとてもほっこりする瞬間でした。披露宴が結んだ後には、ご友人の皆様にこの家で自由に過ごして頂きたい。そんな想いから”お開きのない夜”を楽しまれたお二人。いつもと変わらない雰囲気でお好きなお酒を召し上がりながら、賑やかな夜が続きました。
結婚の日 3日目。
静かに時間が流れるお二人だけのMAYA。チェックアウトの際にお邪魔すると、この2泊3日で過ごされたたくさんの想い出を語ってくれました。
「MAYAで結婚の日を過ごすことができ本当によかったです。」
この言葉をくれたお二人の笑顔は私たちの心にたいせつに残っております。
A day spent with friends like family.
The groom, always with a gentle expression, watches over the bride. The bride, with her charming and adorable smile, naturally brings smiles to those around her. After three years of being together, the couple finally became husband and wife, and they visited MAYA to celebrate their wedding day. As soon as they entered the space of MAYA, the groom felt instinctively that “this is it.” The bride, on the other hand, had always thought that there was no other place but MAYA. For the couple, who usually live in a wooden old house, the atmosphere of MAYA was calming, and they could naturally imagine themselves spending their wedding day in this house. I still remember the happy expressions of the couple as they shared this with us. Since the moment we met the couple, our staff has felt a special connection, and we have spent wonderful moments together preparing for their wedding day.
On the first day of the wedding,
the couple who loves alcohol wanted to spend time with friends who are like family in this house. From such thoughts, the lively BBQ started in MAYA’s garden. They grilled meat and vegetables themselves and enjoyed the special alcohol prepared by the couple, while having a good time on the eve of their special day. Sometimes, friends become closer than parents or siblings, like “family-like friends”. I think that because they had spent various times together until the day of their wedding, there were overflowing feelings among everyone on the day before the special day.
On the day of the special celebration,
both families and close friends from their school days came to visit, making this house lively. During the ceremony held here, which is said to “connect people,” the guests were asked to put a “mizuhiki” on a single frame and create a unique marriage certificate for the couple. I believe that this colorful marriage certificate, filled with the thoughts of the guests, will warmly watch over the couple’s married life ahead. At the wedding reception, the bride, who had changed her attire from a pure white wedding dress, was welcomed. The couple showcased a unique performance by MAYA in the garden. As a special dish for the wedding day, a large steamed sea bream with four types of condiments was prepared as the main fish dish. On this day, as a finishing touch, the couple, wearing aprons, had peanut oil with a fragrant aroma poured over them. Their appearance was a heartwarming moment, as if watching the couple serving home-cooked meals to their loved ones. After the wedding reception, the couple wanted their friends to freely enjoy themselves at this house. They had a “never-ending night” where they enjoyed their favorite drinks in a familiar atmosphere, and the lively night continued.
On the third day of their wedding.
The couple spent some quiet private time together at MAYA. When we visited them at check-out, they shared their many memories from these 2 nights and 3 days. “The fact that we were able to spend our wedding day at MAYA was truly wonderful.” The smiles of the couple who gave us these words remain precious in our hearts.
