「家族のような友人」と過ごす日。
いつも表情が爽やかで和やかな雰囲気にしてくれる新郎様。おっとりとした柔らかい雰囲気で笑顔がとても可愛らしい新婦様。 「鎌倉は私たちの想い出の場所なんです。」 初めてMAYAに来てくださった際、そう教えてくれたお二人。映画鑑賞という共通の趣味がきっかけとなり、お付き合いを重ねてこられたお二人は、お近くにお住まいということもあり、鎌倉には何度もお二人で遊びに来られていたそうです。新郎様からのプロポーズもこの”鎌倉”であったことを照れくさそうに教えてくださいました。 映画鑑賞という共通の趣味だけではなく、とてもお洒落なお二人は、何処となく似ている雰囲気をお持ちで、互いを分かりあい、ご一緒に夫婦生活を歩まれている、そんな印象がございました。
結婚の日 1日目。
チェックインをされ、お二人でゆっくりとハレの日のご準備をされたあと、迎えた新婦様の親御様。「いらっしゃい。」と親御様を迎えているお二人の姿をみて、既にこのMAYAがお二人のお家になっていることが嬉しく、ほっこりするような瞬間でした。 夕飯には、親御様とご一緒に、想い出の鎌倉の街へお出かけになりました。どんなお店での夕食が良いか、随分前から悩まれていたお二人でしたが、親御様に喜んでいただけそうな素敵なお蕎麦屋さんを見つけた際に、嬉しそうに報告してくださったお二人の表情は今でもよく覚えています。
2日目のハレの日。
この日の朝の時間はゆったりと流れ、晴れ姿になったお二人は気の向くままに海やMAYAでのお写真撮影を楽しまれておりました。たくさんのゲストを迎える前の静けさが広がるこのMAYAで、お二人とご家族だけで過ごすこの時間は、私たちMAYAスタッフが見ていてとても幸せを感じる瞬間でもあります。 そして迎えた挙式披露宴。 ご家族、ご友人、職場の方々など、お二人が本当にたいせつに想うたくさんのゲストの皆様にお集まり頂き、賑やかな時間が流れました。 MAYAではあえて司会者を立てずに、新郎新婦のお二人や、親しいゲストの方に進行をしていただくことが多いのですが、この日は新郎様が信頼する上司の方に司会をお願いいたしました。 お二人をよく知る方に進行をしていただく披露宴だからこそ、ゲストの皆様もリラックスして楽しまれており、思わずほっこりする瞬間がたくさんございました。 「ゲストの皆様に楽しんでもらいたい」そんな想いから考えられた、”引き出物マルシェ”。お二人が一生懸命選ばれた鎌倉のお店で集めたギフトたちをサンルームに並べ、ゲストの皆様にはお好きなものをお持ち帰りいただきます。お二人の想い出が詰まったギフトだからこそ、「どれにしよう。」と迷われる方もいらっしゃいましたが、皆様とても楽しそうな表情をされておりました。
結婚の日 3日目。
宿泊をされた新郎様のご家族とご一緒にお庭でのBBQ。お子様も自由にお庭を駆け回り、和やかな時間が流れておりました。 同じ鎌倉、同じお家だけれど、一緒に過ごす人でこんなにも時の流れが違って見えることに、私たちMAYAスタッフは毎回驚かされます。 この日もまた新しいMAYAの過ごし方をお二人に教えてもらえた、そんな気がしました。
A Day With “Memories”
The groom always has refreshing facial expressions and creates a friendly atmosphere. The bride has a soothing and gentle demeanor and smiles very charmingly. “We have fond memories of Kamakura.” The couple told me so when they first came to MAYA. As a result of their shared interest in watching movies, the two have been seeing each other. They have visited Kamakura many times since they live nearby. The groom told me shyly that it was in Kamakura that he asked her to marry him. Not only do they share the same hobby of watching movies, but they have a somewhat similar atmosphere and are also very fashionable. I got the impression that they understand each other well and are enjoying their marriage together.
WEDDING DAY—Day 1
After checking in and taking their time to prepare for their special day, they greeted the bride’s parents. “Welcome.” It was a very happy and relaxing moment for me to see the couple welcoming their parents, and to know that MAYA had already become their home. For dinner, they went out with the parents to the town of Kamakura where they have fond memories. They had been thinking for a long time about what kind of restaurant they would like to have dinner at. I still remember their happy faces when they told me that they found a nice soba restaurant that would please their parents.
SPECIAL DAY—Day 2
The morning passed at a leisurely pace, and the couple, now in their wedding attire, enjoyed taking pictures at the sea and in MAYA as they pleased. The tranquility of MAYA before welcoming the many guests, and the time with just themselves and the family, are moments of great happiness for us at MAYA. Then the wedding ceremony and reception began. The couple had a lively time with many guests they truly care about, including the family, friends, and co-workers. At MAYA, we usually do not appoint an MC, and often have the bride and groom or a close friend take the lead. On this day, we asked the groom’s boss, whom the groom trusts, to be the MC. Because the reception was conducted by someone who knows the couple well, the guests were able to relax and enjoy themselves, and there were many occasions when they smiled. “We want our guests to enjoy themselves.” That thought turned into the “gift marché.” The couple had worked hard to select gifts at stores in Kamakura. The gifts were laid out in the sunroom for guests to choose and take home. Because the gifts were filled with the couple’s memories, some guests were unsure of which one to choose. But everyone seemed to be having a pleasant time.
WEDDING DAY—Day 3
They had a BBQ in the garden with the groom’s family who stayed overnight. Children were able to run around the garden freely and had a relaxing time. Even though it is the same Kamakura and the same home, we at MAYA are always amazed at how time can seem so different depending on the people we spend time with. I felt that they taught me another new way to spend time at MAYA on that day.
