この家は、里見弴が自ら設計し、
心を込めて建てた住まいです。

洋館のひと部屋ひと部屋に、使いやすさや心地よさ、
そしてどこか遊び心のようなものが散りばめられています。

ここは、誰かがつくった立派な邸宅ではなく、
「人」が「暮らす人」として丁寧に考えた、
あたたかな場所でした。
彼はこの家で、静かに物語を紡ぎました。
午前の光がやわらかく差しこむ窓辺で、机に向かい、
ことばを選び、また消し、物語の世界と向き合っていたのです。

ときには、庭を歩いたり、子どもの声に耳を傾けたりしながら——。 
今、その窓から見える空は、あの頃と変わりません。
季節ごとに違う表情を見せながらも、
ずっとこの家の屋根の上に広がっています。
里見さんが何度も見上げた空。
考えごとをしながら、ひと息ついたときに見た空。 
その風景の中に、私たちは今、そっと立っています。

The House That Nurtured Stories

This house is a home that Ton Satomi designed himself and built with care. Each room in this Western-style mansion is infused with practicality, comfort, and a touch of playfulness.  This is not some grand residence crafted by someone else, but rather a warm place created by a writer, who was also the person dwelling there.  Here, Satomi quietly wove his stories.  At his desk by the window, where the morning light softly streamed in, he chose words, erased them, and faced the many worlds of his stories.  Sometimes, he strolled through the garden or listened to the voices of children.  Now, the sky that can be seen from that window is still unchanged from that time.  It shifts with the seasons, yet always stretches above the roof of this house.  It is the sky that Ton Satomi looked up at countless times. The sky he gazed at while lost in thought or taking a moment to breathe.  It is in that landscape that we now quietly stand.

いつもの人たちが来る家 

里見弴にとって、この家はただ暮らすだけの場所ではありませんでした。 
それは、気を張らずにいられる人たちと過ごす、
心からくつろげる「集いの場所」でもあったのです。
白樺派のひとりとして、彼のまわりにはたくさんの文士や芸術家がいました。
志賀直哉、有島武郎、武者小路実篤——。 
けれど、この家に足を運んだのは、
その中でもとくに気の合う、信頼できる友人たちだけでした。
賑やかだけれどどこか落ち着いた声。 台所からはお茶の香り。
季節の花がさりげなく飾られた客間では、本の話、人生の話、
そして時に黙って過ごす静かな時間が流れていたといいます。 
「ほんとうに仲のいい人しか、家には呼ばない。」 
そんな空気が、この建物には今も残っています。 
どんなに時代が変わっても、誰かを“迎える”という気持ちに、
きっと大きな違いはないのでしょう。 
ふたりの大切な日にも、この場所が、
そういう「やさしく心をひらける場所」として、
そっと寄り添えたらと思います。

The House Where Familiar Faces Gathered

For Ton Satomi, this house was more than just a place to live.  It was a “gathering place,” where he could truly relax and spend time with the people he felt at ease with.  
As a member of the Shirakaba School, he was surrounded by many writers and artists, such as Naoya Shiga, Takeo Arishima, and Saneatsu Mushanokoji.  
However, only his closest, most trusted friends ever crossed the threshold of this house.  Voices that were lively yet somehow calm filled the air.
The scent of tea wafted from the kitchen.  
In the guest room, subtly adorned with seasonal flowers, conversations about books, life, as well as sometimes quiet moments of silence unfolded.
“I only invite those to whom I am truly close to come into my home.”
This atmosphere still lingers in this building today.  
No matter how times change, the feeling of “welcoming” somebody likely remains much the same.
On this special day for both of you, we hope that this place can gently serve as a space in which hearts can open tenderly.

にぎやかな拍手も、笑い声も、たくさんの人に囲まれる幸せも。 
それは間違いなく、結婚の日を特別にしてくれる大切なものです。 
けれど、こんな声も私たちは受け取ってきました。
「家族だけで、静かに過ごしたい」
「ふたりと数人だけで、一日を味わいたい」
たくさんのものを用意しなくても、
本当に大切なものだけが、きちんとそこにある時間。
そんな時間こそが、結婚の日の真ん中にあってほしい。
その思いから、私たちはMAYA-SATOMI-TEIをつくりました。
里見弴は家を“住む場所”であると同時に、
“迎える場所”として考えていた人です。
誰かの暮らしのあとが残るこの家を、
また誰かの新しい物語のために使いたいと考えました。
場所は、鎌倉西御門。
私たちにとって、ブランドの始まりである鎌倉に、
もうひとつの家をそっと加えました。 
大人数でも、小人数でも、特別な一日はつくれる。
でも、小さくて静かな結婚の日には、
それにふさわしい場所が必要だと思ったのです。
里見弴さんは私たちにきっとはこう問いかけるかもしれません。 
「今日は、ほんとうに大切な人だけと過ごしませんか？」
ここからまた、新しい物語が、ゆっくりとはじまっていきます。

MAYA SATOMI-TEI

Lively applause, laughter, and the joy of being surrounded by many people.  These are undoubtedly precious elements that make a wedding day special.  Yet, we have also heard these voices:
“We just want to spend some quiet time with family.” 
“We want to savor the day with just the two of us and a few others.”
A time for which you won’t need to prepare many things, but where everything truly important will be fully present.
It is that kind of time that should be at the heart of a wedding day.  With this in mind, we created MAYA SATOMI-TEI. Ton Satomi saw a house a being both a “place to live” as well as a “place to welcome.”
We wanted this house, which bears the traces of somebody’s life,to be used for somebody’s new story.
It is located in Kamakura’s Nishi-Mikado.  
We have quietly added another house in Kamakura, where our brand began.  Whether with many people or few, you will be able to craft your special day.  
But, if what you want is a small, quiet wedding day, you will need the appropriate location.
Ton Satomi might ask the question this way:
“Today, why not spend time with only those who are truly dear to you?”
From here, new stories will slowly begin to unfold.
